2024 AWARDS:

1. COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL GARDENS PROGRAM
On behalf of the N. C. Cooperative Extension, we would like to express our gratitude for the Davis Education Fund of the North Carolina Unit of the Herb Society of America grant. Through these funds, the Community and School Gardens Program was able to provide twenty-six Guilford County School gardens nine varieties of herb transplants. Without this grant, we would not be able to fulfill all requests for an educational program on growing fresh herbs. Please enjoy viewing the excitement in the faces of our young gardeners. Here is a list of herbs that were provided to the schools:
  1. Stevia
  2. Rosemary
  3. Oregano
  4. English thyme
  5. Lemon thyme
  6. Russian sage
  7. Common sage
  8. Lavender
  9. Parsley
That is a total of 240 herb transplants given out to twenty-six school gardens.
